Diseases of the lower extremities and veins have been known to mankind since birth. Treatment of varicose veins of the legs is suitable for women and men. This disease is an enlargement of the superficial veins in the lower extremities. It is accompanied by impaired blood flow and valve failure.
There are 4 types of varicose veins. According to clinical classification, trouble does not always bother everyone. In the early stages, the symptoms are not noticeable or the signs are extremely insignificant. Some patients have enough nursing home visits each year, the second patient will need to be treated at a specialist medical center.
Conservative treatment
Treatment of varicose veins takes place under the supervision of a doctor in a specialized center. In some difficult cases, surgical intervention cannot be avoided; however, conservative methods are used along with surgery. Only a surgeon can get rid of the severe stage, but it is completely possible to slow down the vascular pathology, improve the condition by conservative methods.
Here are some examples of varicose veins treatment. There are two conservation methods:
Compression method
Previously, it was necessary to bandage the lower limbs with a special bandage made from dog hair. Simple options are now created:
- Compression vest;
- Tape;
- Elastic band.
In medical centers, jerseys are often used, which can be replaced by bandages - they are cheaper, sometimes more suitable for specific treatment of venous insufficiency of the lower extremities. Patients buy these items themselves for treatment, then use them at home for the purpose of disease prevention or as recommended by a doctor. Positive consequences:
- Reduced venous diameter, reflux, ballast blood volume, capillary filtration;
- Increases the speed of blood flow, the efficiency of the venous pump, reabsorption, lymphatic drainage;
- Eliminate reflux in some cases.
There are many details to consider when choosing a compression product. If we are talking about bandages, for diseases of the lower extremities, bandages of medium and short stretch are used. Allow the use of bandage mixtures, creating elastic bandages. Speaking of hosiery (knee socks, tights), underwear should be purchased based on individual parameters.
Method of taking medicine
There are many drugs to effectively treat varicose veins. Do not arbitrarily choose drugs. It is better to use it on the recommendation of a doctor so as not to aggravate the condition of the lower extremities.
Drugs for the treatment of varicose veins ASD are of great interest. It is available for sale in two forms:
- part 2 - external and internal use. The liquid is yellowish to dark red in color and has a characteristic pungent odor.
- part 3 - for external use. The liquid has an oily texture, color varies from dark brown to black.
The segments differ on the method of dissolution. ASD 2 is soluble in water, ASD 3 is completely assimilated in oil and alcohol. The second part is added to water, mixed and drunk according to the instructions (15 drops per 100 ml of water / tea, 2 times a day 30 minutes before meals). The use will affect the strengthening of the immunity of the vascular walls.
A well-known remedy is an ointment based on troxerutin for the treatment of varicose veins. The application is very intuitive, sometimes it requires a combination of a gel with capsules of the same name. If there is no improvement, it is necessary to contact the nearest clinic or specialist center. The ointment is easy to apply:
- The lower extremities are thoroughly washed with laundry soap. It is permissible to add a few drops of iodine or hydrogen peroxide to the water.
- After washing, the feet are dried with a towel.
- The gel is squeezed out of the tube into the palm of the hand, transferred to the surface of the problem areas of varicose veins, diseased vessels.
- Gently apply the ointment until completely absorbed by the skin.
- From above it is possible to wrap the legs with elastic bandages or wear compression products.
It is not possible to cure varicose veins with ointments. But by using means, it is noted:
- Competent treatment of varicose veins;
- eliminate signs of venous insufficiency;
- improve quality of life;
- to preserve working capacity;
- avoid recurrence.
Treating varicose veins of the lower extremities with drugs will not work, you should not rely solely on drugs. However, the use of funds is important to prevent weak vessels of the veins, to accelerate the healing process. The drug can increase tone, microcirculation and suppress inflammation. Doctors prescribe drugs that are well tolerated by the vast majority of patients.
Surgical method
It is important for the patient to know how to get rid of varicose veins of the lower extremities one hundred percent. Only surgical intervention is helpful in this. Doctors always find out in advance the specific causes of varicose veins in patients. The doctor will try to stop this process, slow it down, prevent the disease from getting worse. Sometimes the reason is genetic, the genetic side of the weak blood vessels is obvious.
Referrals to the clinic are not always a panacea. We will have to try in the coming time, avoid recurrence to start a healthy lifestyle, which anyone can do. If there is a good reason for surgical intervention at the medical center, the patient will be offered one of the possible procedures:
- Vein removal. Lasts 1. 5 hours. It involves the removal of diseased veins. You may need to be in a nursing home while you recover. There may be a small risk of scarring, although the surgery is not serious.
- Therapy therapy. It is important to walk for an hour after surgery. This procedure is to puncture a vein to get the "adhesive" drug inside. Requires control of the ultrasound machine. The method in the specialist centers is very famous for the treatment of blood vessels.
- Laser coagulation. This is considered the newest method to get rid of varicose veins in the legs. After puncture, a special anesthetic is administered, followed by cleaning of the endothelium. Many requirements are specified in the postoperative period. Immediately after freezing, the doctor applied pressure bandages and wore them continuously for 5 days.
- Radiofrequency coagulation. Same method as before. Local anesthesia is performed, there is no need for hospital admission to the clinic, and no incision is required. The doctor acts under the control of ultrasound.
It is recommended to follow the surgeon. Correct behavior after surgery will allow you to recover earlier, where conservative healing of the veins of the lower extremities is required.
Traditional medicine and exercise therapy
Many patients are seeking treatment for varicose veins outside of medical centers and surgeons, fearing scarring and checking payments. Often with a similar diagnosis, many procedures are contraindicated: from Charcot baths to massages. Patients are looking for alternative medicine methods to combat varicose veins.
